I left California in the middle of a drought when the wildfires had just begun, landing in the jungles of Costa Rica during rainy season.
I felt the absence of man’s footprint driving through the Rain forests in search of the perfect wave. Even in the crowded beach towns, there wasn’t any litter, and compared to the surrounding nature, these cities felt small and somehow at peace with the surrounding nature.
I enjoyed this feeling and took time to reflect on how humans have interacted with nature over the years. The only conclusion I came to was that nature goes through its own cycles and we are part of it whether we’re aware of it or not.
